FAQ Artist

Does the artist get paid?

According to our concept, our artist's performance is appreciated with hat donations from the audience. We cannot guarantee a certain amount, however, from experience, donations typically lie between 100€ and 200€. This naturally depends on the number of attendees and on how well the artist and the audience were able to connect with each other. A hint from our side: The intimate and personal format of our sessions allows you to build more intense relationships with the audience. The more you engage and interact with them, the better the response in terms of donations/selling merch and winning them as long-term fans. 🙂

When and where will it take place?

You will receive the exact address directly from the person hosting your performance. The two of you will figure out the timetable that suits you best. Just make sure that you get there early enough to check out the location, set up your equipment, make a short sound check, and finally connect with your host in person. But as a little hint: Usually, doors open around 7 pm and the show starts around 8 pm (see schedule below). Performances generally take between 30 and 60 minutes. Of course, the length your the set depends on what you agree on with the host(s). After the show, you can jam, relax, and connect with the Freilich community, and maybe get your next show settled. But remember: after 10 pm the volume should be turned down to a level, which does not bother the neighbors’ sleep.

19:00 – 19:30 Doors Open
19:30 – 20:00 Meet & Greet
20:00 – 22:00 Performance (incl. Break)
22:00 – 23:30 Jam & Chill

What to consider when planning your performance?

Since most of the sessions are held in private living rooms, you should consider the neighbors. Therefore, music performances should be at a volume that is appropriate for the size of the room. Also, usually space is limited, so you should strip down your setup as much as possible to make transportation easier and save space for more audience. Just contact your host about the conditions at the location.

Note: Freilich has some equipment available – just write us an email at community@freilichopenarts.com or give us a call: +4367762882782

Is there a possibility to sell merchandise?

Normally, that shouldn't be a problem. Just discuss this with your host.

Can I bring friends?

Sure! When you contact your host, you will figure out how many friends your host will invite and how many friends you can bring. Just note that there must be at least 5 slots available for members of the Freilich community because Freilich is also about connecting with new, like-minded people.

The following distribution of guest list slots has proven to be quite good:

~ 33% Friend List (Artist)

~ 33% Guest List (Host)

~ 33% Freilich Community
